You’re in those beginning stages of building your business, you’ve had a few clients and you’ve helped them succeed. You’re realizing that – Hey – you really can do this! But getting the word out takes a whole lot of time and effort and you’d really like to speed up the process.

One of the most powerful selling tools you have is an enthusiastic client. They’re probably already talking about you in glowing terms over a cup of coffee somewhere. Sometime in the future, their friends or colleagues may become clients, and that’s great. But a great way to speed up that process and create a win-win for both of you is to invite them to attend a networking event with you.
If you go to this event regularly, you’ll know a number of people and can make some valuable personal introductions for your client. You’ll be helping them expand their own circle, and inevitably, they will be talk about how much they love working with you. You’ll be broadcasting all that goodwill without any effort at all!

I made this wonderful discovery inadvertently, when I attended a networking event that a lovely client of mine was also at. She raved about me throughout the evening, and people I’d never met were approaching me to find out about my coaching. And I talked up the value of what she does and how lovely she is to work with. It was effortless and fun! We helped each other.
If you have a direct marketing company and hold parties as your business-building strategy, invite a favourite customer and treat them with a small Thank You gift. They’ll do half the selling for you just by being there and their enthusiasm will pump up the energy and make the whole event more fun for everyone.
Whatever your business model, find ways to involve your happy clients that will honour and appreciate them, and give them the chance to rave about you. Then relax and enjoy the sales rolling in!
